Look at U'r model with new decals...
Look closely... isn't something wrong here??

The tank is battle worn... all its camouflage surface is covered with dust, scratches and the paint is flaking...

While our decals not...
Our decals are factory new with look like were airbrushed with use of template...

We will correct this now...

2.
- Open U'r Graphic Editor (as tutorial is based on GIMP, options used here may not exist in other programs), import texture from STEP 8.10

- Unhide original mask layer.

Select Black color of mask layer with Select by Color Tool
Keep threshold at low setting 10-15

4.
We need to randomly distort selection to let it be a little torn..

Do a Menu > Select > Distort
Disable Vertical and Horizontal smooth
Play a little with settings.
Induced effect should be gentle

Feather selection by 1px

Fill selection with 100% black

Soften the sharp edges with Menu > Filters > Blur > Gaussian Blur
Set blur to low value 2-3px

- Add a White (full opacity) mask to decals layer
- Copy/Paste modified mask to mask of decals
- Anchor Layer
- Apply Mask
- Hide or delete mask layer
- Export image

Open 3DS, import model and swap texture to new one with we just created.

- Open WARTHUNDER CDK - Asset Viewer

- Navigate it to:
root\#gameRes\decals\back_25

- Grab ALPHA channel from it.

9.
- Import grabbed Alpha Channel of Polish Checker to new layer of
our decals project...

- Crop the black frame from it

- Perform Menu > Filters > Map > Make Seamless

- Cut Alpha channel of Polish Checker to Clipboard

- Add new layer, pattern fill it with Polish Checker Alpha

Guess what...

It's not over yet.
Now we will copy to our decals all the dust, dirt and peeling of default skin, making our decals perfect...
